How to pair Apple TV with Xcode via wi-fi
I was building React Native project on my Apple TV 4K, and rather than testing in an emulator I wanted to test on physical device but noticed that it did not have a USB C port like the previous generation. If your Mac doesn’t have a USB-C port, you may use a USB-C to USB-A adapter. But here I am showing how to use wi-fi for same.
Here is the step-by-step guide to achieve this.
Prerequisites:
- Make sure your Apple TV and your Mac running Xcode are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure that your Apple TV and Xcode are up to date with the latest software versions.
Steps:
- On your Mac, open Xcode and choose Window > Devices and Simulators.
2. On your Apple TV, go to Settings > Remotes and Devices > Remote App and Devices.
3. In the Xcode device manager, select your Apple TV.
5. Enter the pin that appears on the Apple TV on your Mac.
6.Click the Connect button. When it’s successfully paired, a network connection icon appears beside the Apple TV.
Note: Keep your Mac device and Apple TV near to each other during the process. please consider screenshot shown above may differ in your case. so please use them for reference
Your Apple TV is now paired with your Mac.
How to unpair your Mac,
- open Xcode > Device Manager
- select your Apple TV
- then choose Unpair.
I hope this can help you to solve the problem you are facing. 😊
